When I graduated from high school, my mom bought me a cell phone. The service was from Suncom/Att Wireless and it worked perfectly fine. Except, that I could use it at home because I would incur roaming charges. Plus, if I did use it at home, I had to be in a very specific place or else the person on the other side could not hear anything. The perk of my Suncom account was that I had a plethora of minutes and when I had coverage it was good. It was a rarity to have dropped calls.
So I decided to sacrifice good call quality for more coverage-I switched to Verizon Wireless. VW is great for overall coverage, but it sucks at voice quality and dropped calls. Why can't a phone keep a signal? What are cellular companies doing to improve service? I bet nothing at all. Right now, price wars are ensuing with the advent of recent cellular mergers. Companies are focusing on charging the lowest price and offering so-called no roaming. I say if you improve the quality of a phone call and service, you just might have the competitive advantage. I wish I had the perfect cell phone. NO dropped calls. NO Roaming. NO vague charges. Is that too much to ask? Given my current circumstances, I think so.

Part of the reason, Kevis, I don't own a cellphone is because of the fact that coverage for them is expensive and frustrating.
The other reason I don't have a cellphone is because the one I want, the Motorola RazR 3, is about 300 bucks retail.

Diane
P.S. Thanks for your comment on that one entry.
I appreciate it(and you)
