It seems as if I have survived both storms. In fact, they veered from their forecasted projected paths. Bonnie deteriorated while Hurricane Charlie swept along the coast of South Carolina including my premier vacation spot, Myrtle Beach. I was distraught to learn of the causalities involved in Florida, the loss of homes, and the loss of power.
It's a Monday...
I hate Mondays. They are usually the longest day at work. We are required to work eight hours as compared to the average workday of seven hours. I wish I were at home playing some video games right now, which reminds me of something.
Yesterday, I was playing Mega Man Anniversary Collection with two of my buddies. We completed a bout 2/3 of the one of collection games. BTW, I'm sure there are some people in the world that have no idea what or who Mega Man is. Well, let me give you some background. He's robot, but not just any ole robot. He's a fighting robot. Well, the general concept of the game is this:
You start off with this blue looking dude that has the ability to shoot "plasma"(it's something like energy pellet) from his arm. His missions always include taking out the "EVIL" robots. Usually, after beating them he can absorb their weapon scheme. For example, if one of the robots has the fire beam weapon, Mega Man can take on that weapon in other missions. Mega Man’s creator and leader is the nimble, Dr. Light. As implied by his name, he is good and he is bent on stopping the nefarious and evasive, Dr. Wily from taking over the world. At the end of the game (If you are good enough to beat it), Dr. Wily is locked up in jail until the next game; he somehow finds a way to escape to unleash his robotic army to reenact his campaign of world dominance. The series has come long way in the development of the story and the character of Mega man. I believe that every Playstation-or- Nintendo-playing child should have this game and all of its wonders. Point blank: If a 21-year-old man can enjoy this game, then it must be good. Long Live Mega man!!!

"Breakway"
by Kelly Clarkson
Grew up in a small town
And when the rain would fall down
I'd just stare out my window
Dreaming of what could be
And if I'd end up happy
I would pray
Trying hard to reach out
But when I tried to speak out
Felt like no one could hear me
Wanted to belong here
But something felt so wrong here
So I'd pray
I could break away
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky.
Make a wish, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away.
Out of the darkness and into the sun.
But I won't forget all the ones that I love.
I'll take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away
na na na la la na na na la la
Wanna feel the warm breeze
Sleep under a palm tree
Feel the rush of the ocean
Get onboard a fast train
Travel on a jetplane
Far away
And break away
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky.
Make a wish, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away.
Out of the darkness and into the sun.
I won't forget all the ones that I love.
I GOTTA take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away
Buildings with a hundred floors
Swinging with revolving doors
Maybe I don’t know where they’ll take me but
Gotta keep movin on movin on
Fly away
Break away
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly.
Though it’s not easy to tell you goodbye
Take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away.
Out of the darkness and into the sun.
But I won't forget the place I come from
I gotta take a risk, take a chance,
Make a change, and break away
Breakaway
Break away
I’m falling in love with this song, “Breakaway”. I have to give kudos to Kelly Clarkson for the vocals. I can really relate to this song. I guess one could assert it’s about doing something different like moving to a new place, somewhere beyond the comfort zone of home. Given, saying goodbye to our loved ones isn’t easy, but at some point of our lives we have to “break away” and explore our opportunities, pursue personal endeavors and find happiness. It might involve a risk, but so do others things in life just like romantic love. If it’s worth it, then it will mean taking a chance. You never know what the result may become or who you may perhaps meet.
Perhaps tomorrow will go by fast.
