The Dark Side of the Force

Over the past week, I've watched the Original Star Wars Trilogy. After listening to some of the George Lucas audio commentary, I agreed that Star Wars Original Trilogy wasn't about the Rebel Alliance against the Empire, Luke's journey to become a Jedi knight, Leia's leadership to overthrow a ruthless government, or Han and Lando's sex appeal to the female gender. It was about Darth Vader and his immersion in the sometimes vaguely defined Dark side. He was evil, cruel, unrelenting to people especially to his subordinates. Sometimes, I really empathize for Darth Vader. His job is to do the bidding of his master, the emperor. But he has to rely on his generals to carry out these orders. If they fail, he will fail also.

I'm begging to feel like that. I'm slowing going to the Dark Side. Certain people are getting on nerves and I just want to use some force lightning to shut them up. Or maybe pull out my lightsaber and sever a few limbs. Okay, I'm really kidding about the severing of limbs and using force lightning. But the point is, some people are sooo annoying. I see why Anakin went to the Dark Side. People got on his nerves. Let me point out that I am in no way condoning or implying the use of violence or the like in response to the exasperation of others.

When I juxtapose myself with characters in the Star Wars universe, I find a parallel with Luke and Anakin.

There is a mixture of Light and Dark side qualities. I guess that everyone in their imperfect state can't be totally Light or Dark. But I guess it helps to draw closer and closer to the Light.(No pun intended)

Favorite Darth Vader Quotes, I could use in my daily life activities:

  • "You don't know the power of the Dark Side." [ To people who test my patience]
  • "You have failed for the last time [insert name] ." [To anyone who lets me down]
  • "What is thy bidding my master."[To my boss]
  • "Impressive."[ To Shelly for cooking for me]
  • "..... don't make me destroy you."[To loud and rambunctious kids]
  • "I find your lack of faith disturbing. " [To evolutionists and the like]
  • "Take her away!" [To my co-worker]
Captain O.

Jeez, who spams blogs?
This entry made me laugh, especially "don't make me destroy you".
Kevis, you're so wonderful.
Always Yours,

P.S. You and my mother should really get together on this Star Wars thing.
