This is one of the three of my Blog series dedicated to the Star Wars Franchise especially with the impending release of the much anticipated movie Revenge of Sith.
Recently, I just finished reading the book Star Wars: Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno. I have to admit that it was pretty good. It's the only Star Wars I've been able to read from cover to cover. The writing was superb and well-developed. It wasn't too confusing or too convonulated. I recommend this book to any interested Star Wars fan.
What was so interesting about the book is that it provided for a plethora of details surrounding the core characters and some minor one. Also, the political manipulations that start a Galactic War and create an imperial State. Darth Vader is thought of a as the greatest villain of all time. But from my readings of Labyrinth of Evil, I would have to have say that Darth Sidious is the perhaps the greatest villain of all time because he is pure evil(remember that Darth Vader changes back to good), cunning, a political master, high subtle, and he's butt ugly. I would say that these would fit the bill of the a great movie villain. I guess that's the reason why the new Star Wars movie Revenge of the Sith will be a good movie. Not just because of Anakin's turn to the darkside, but the very exploration of evil and its agents. Not just any evil, pure, unbridled, undiluted evil: Darth Sidious. Darth Vader is just an agent of evil, not the personification.
For the first time in my life( I think) I will be watching a movie where the Bad guys win and the good guys lose. Interesting Indeed.
Now as I faithfully await the special day of May 19, I will be reading the novel with the same title as the movie written by Matthew Stover. I hope the novel and movie lives up to the hype if not then, I will still be impressed by the storyline.
