Women and High Heels

This has been bothering me since the beginning of time, my birth. Why do women like wearing high heels? They seem like they are so uncomfortable. Plus, they make this annoying clomping sound. That coupled with extremely strong perfume is enough to drive me crazy. But I have discovered why high heels are so appealing to some women.

I stumbled upon an article from Psychology Today March/April 1993 issue written by Hellen E. Fisher. This is what it has to say:

"Some women also have a characteristic walk when courting; they arch their backs, thrust out their bosoms, sway their hips, and strut. No wonder many women wear high-heeled shoes. This bizarre Western custom, invented by Catherine de Medici in the 1500s, unnaturally arches the back, tilts the buttocks, and thrusts the chest out into a female come-hither pose. The clomping noise of their spiky heels helps draws attention too. "

It's all for the attention. Pretentious beings these females are.

It seems that I'm beginning to understand the female pysche. Pretty soon, I will know everthing...... (Evil Grin)

Hi,Kevis.

A lot of women wear it just for the look but I certainly don't.

They hurt...badly. And they cause a lot of foot problems. I'm already ridiculously tall for my age and furthermore, there's not too many people's attention I really want.

So maybe because I don't pin up that I don't get hit on a lot.
But I find the quality of the guys that do hit on me are much better than the quality of the guys that hit on girls who care about quantity.

And no,you're not going to understand the female phyce until you get married. And even then, sometimes, whoever your wife will be, will leave you shaking and scratching your head.

Thought-provoking entry(as always).

Always Yours,

Diane
