A Studious and Potentially Boring Weekend

I have midterm exams next week, so that means that I will be spending most of my weekend studying, trying memorize everything. I really need this weekend to study and become familiar with the materials in my classes. I think that I have been devoting too much time to my social life and not enough time to my academic studies. I have three papers to write and so far, I have nothing. As mentioned before, I have those two midterm exams next week, so I have a lot of work ahead of me. So, I'm going to lock myself in my room and that's that. No television, no Internet, no connection whatsoever to the outside world. Just me and the books.

If I pass those midterm exams next week, I think I will treat myself to Sponge Bob Square Pants: The Movie with some friends from out of town. I just have to convince them of the humorous implications of watching the movie.

So Microsoft released the Service Pack 2 about some weeks ago. I was smart enough to order a copy on CD-ROM, because I know that on my wimpy dial-up connection, it would take eons to download. I was expecting something great from this Service Pack for Windows XP, but, instead, I got something with flashy buttons with no real firepower. The only thing it really does is tell me, the "dummy" computer user, that my antiviral program needs updating. It also tells me, the "dummy" computer user, that I must install "critical" updates from Microsoft or else my computer might be at "risk". One feature I really like is the pop-up blocker. How many times does take for Internet Explorer to become sabotage by a plethora of vicious, killer pop-up ads to realize you need a mechanism that will stop them???

It's just conventional wisdom. This feature is long overdue. I'm so sick and tire of Internet Explorer "freezing" up on me, when I surf the Internet. I highly recommend for the home computer use, Firefox, it's fast and secure. What more can you ask for? A better browser from Microsoft? It won’t happen this century.

Sorry you had gotten stuck with all of that homework,Kevis.
I hate IE and I hate Microsoft so I use Apples(Macs) whenever possible. When I can't get an Apple, I use The Fox(Firefox).
Anyway, just thought I'd check up on you.
Write me back and tell me how the tests went(because I see that this is not a too recent entry).
Always yours,
Diane
