Keri Noble and Alternative-Soul

I ordered this new album by Keri Noble from Half.com at the recommendation of one of my good friends. When it came in on Monday, I was so excited for finally having some new music to listen to. I was hoping that the CD would be a good, but it turned out to be a really good, even great, CD.

The album is called Fearless and the singer as already mentioned, is Keri Noble. She's pretty newcomer who has a special and distinct voice. She can tune her voice to high pitch levels, but not as good as the lower pitch levels, but she makes up for this her mastery of lyrics and song style. Her album isn't so easily classified as alternative. In some cases, there are a lot of mainstream artists who shouldn't be classified as alternative or pop. I have coined a new genre of music called alternative-soul. Keri Noble's Fearless has much soul, heart, with a nice blend of piano and jazziness. This album will indeed make you cry, laugh, and cry some more.

"Falling"

Standing here outside your door
Not sure if you're home
Wondering if I'm a fool
Maybe I should go

Usually I'm fearless
But I've become undone
A clown without even a disguise
Now everyone will know that I've

Fallen fallen I've fallen in love
And I can't make sense of it

Don't know how this happened
I can't say for sure
But suddenly I'm incomplete
Sustaining on the hope

If you should see me face to face
If you could hear my heart
You might feel this terrifying something rising up and you've

Fallen fallen you've fallen in love
And you can't make sense of it

My favorite track is "Falling". The lyrics tell the story, but the tone of her ethereal voice conveys the intense feeling of "falling in love". Sure, I'm a guy who claims not to shred a tear for fear it make weaken my masculinity, but when I hear this song, it breaks down the floodgates. I'm not saying that I did cry and I'm not saying I didn't. I'm just saying...

Fearless is not just limited to mushy, cushy love songs. There's one song about general love called "Love Is All I Know", which is fitting in the turbulent and chaotic times we live in.

I love music and the way it tells stories and conveys deep emotions. I love music with depth and a strong sense of foundation. Sure, I love sappy, love songs, but that's doesn't make me a softy, right? Well, anyway , Fearless is a successful attempt by a alternative-soul newcomer to create a nice work of art that borders on masterpiece and Excellency. Given time, I would say with a more seasoned voice and using the same formula for her lyrics, Keri Noble could cross over to mainstream and become one of the biggest stars in music. She already has the look.
