Stupid Little Poem

So, yep, I wrote a stupid little poem. Why is it stupid? Because I don't really consider myself anything much of a poet. I mean I barely aced my Creative Writing class, and I had a hard time trying to compose a Villanelle for English lit. So this is my sad attempt to write something of substance and be original at the same time. It would be apparent from my previous posts, what my musing (or muse) is.

The Embrace( I found this nice picture from stratsplace.com) Posted by Hello

Celestial Integrity

As the Darkness leaves the face of the Ocean, another suitor comes,
the Sun who is much desired in the eyes of the Ocean
It always comes after the Darkness leaves,
bringing with it a yellowish-orangey demeanor

As He touches the face of his lover, the Ocean, his hand is gentle,
ever so tender, so as to not harm her beautiful face
In the zenith of the meeting, the Sun fully embraces its lover with arms of radiance and warmth
The Ocean, no longer feels alone, cold, dark, now she feels complete, warm and safe.

However Time is unsympathetic to both and breaks up the rendezvous.
The Sun departs from the Ocean, leaving a trail of amber tears.
As the Darkness returns, the Ocean feels cold, alone, and unsafe
She must endure the brutality, harshness, numbness, of the Darkness

O, how the Ocean longs for her celestial mate,
but she knows that He will return to her in due time to make the Darkness go away
The Sun makes an eternal promise with the elegant and wistful Ocean
to always return to her….always

That was beautiful! I liked it a lot. And I have a hard time believing you didn't do well in English Lit.
