I have been working with Internet Explorer for about six years now. This browser has been a mainstay for computer users for years. It literally made Netscape (a under popular and underused browser) go away. That brought on the anti-trust lawsuits against Microsoft. Microsoft was monopolizing the Internet browser industry by installing their browsers on the computers installed with their flagship software, Windows. Sure it was a convenience for the customers who bought a computer and wanted to a browser right then and their without having to install one from the 'net. However, as with most Microsoft products, convenience comes with a price. That price is a shoddy product filled with flaws and security holes. When you hear of reports that Microsoft or some information technology security company say that they have found holes in the software, they are not kidding.
Every second of the day, computers installed with XP or 2000 are taking up their ISP bandwidth because they spend that bandwidth downloading security updates are useless after a while. One thing Microsoft needs to do is allocate more money into Quality Control. They spend millions and millions of dollars into research development, but they spend even less in quality control. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Microsoft sympathizer, but changes are in order. Soon, perhaps, Microsoft will lose money because they would rather focus on consumer convenience and universality instead of quality products that last a long time. In the meantime, Mozilla continues to add faithful users because of their dedication to a reliable product that doesn't crash every time you watch a real-time music video, or allow spyware to be installed on your computer. Get it together Microsoft. Watch out. Here comes Mozilla and they are serious. Right now the product is relatively free, but I imagine that pretty soon they will want to make real profits in the Internet Browser industry that's currently dominated by you know who. Mozilla is a nice browser that could act as a backup or a replacement all together for IE. It has nice features and advantages over dominant IE:
- A built-in Pop blocker
- Open Source Development engine
- Does not give a website an option of downloading clandestine software plugins(aka spyware, adware)
- Works well with Java
- Doesn’t crash every second on the minute
- It’s fairly simplistic and importable
- Minimal security holes, flaws( if any)
- It’s free
I highly recommend Mozilla for those who want to use a reliable and secure Internet interface program without the security drama. In the Browser wars, Mozilla wins.

MOZILLA ROCKS! It's the only thing I use on my computers now.
I use Safari at school. Internet Explorer sucks, has always sucked and always will suck.I hate Windows ,but I don't usually have access to a Mac.When I get my own computer, it won't have Windows on it. It's gonna be a Mac or have Linux on it or nothing.
Always yours,
Dee
