Fall 2004

Posted by Hello

The Fall season is beginning to take form. The temperatures are starting to cool down. I haven't really seen much leave color change. In the south, where I live, the leaves are very nice to look at. I would say that fall is one of my favorites. It's not too cold and not too hot; It's just right just like spring time, which is another season favorite of mine. Another great feature of the fall season is the start of the football season football. I love football. I will talk about that later, but I shall discuss the happenings that took place last weekend.

Last Weekend: I finally got back into my swing in things with the social life thing. This time, there are no girls or even one certain girl; it’s just my buds and me: the way simple life is suppose to be. On Friday, we saw the movie, Hero, starring Jet Li. It was a good movie. The action choreography was excellent, so was the storyline. It reminded me a lot of the movie, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, esp. with the people on wires sword fighting and all. I like subtitles and I don't. For some reason, I would rather endure Japanese subtitles, than I would french subtitles. That sounds rather strange and unusually right? Right. On Saturday, the boys and I went to a high school (my old High School) football game. It seems that some things never change. You have the perverted boys and "Men" who stare down the varsity cheerleaders at the end of the field. You have the little immature kids who run all over the place. (I wonder where their parents are.) You have the little social groups of teenagers, who are probably talking about nothing at all. Then you have the long lines at the concession stand, because one friend let's another friend in line, who in turn, lets another friend in life, who in turn, lets another friend in line. It's sort of a domino effect with no ends. The football game was fun, though. What's really sad is my lack of football general rules and regulations. For example, my friends know every known football play and penalty known to the industry. I'm left to turn to my friends ask, what's was that call? Or what was that play? Maybe somehow I can acquire accurate knowledge about the physics of Football. At least I learned that that off sides has a penalty of 15 yards. Or was that 5 yards? Hmm. Too bad Limestone College doesn't offer Football 101.

The Carolina Panthers: I'm looking forward to seeing my professional team the Carolina Panthers shape up into a championship-like team just like last football season. So far it hasn't looked good. The star wide receiver, Steve Smith, broke his leg in the opener with the Green Bay Packers. Ouch!! Hopefully, the Panthers can once again defy the odds go the national championship game(aka Super Bowl) and possibly bring home the gold. Go Panthers!!!
