One could say that it's the peak of the song that defines the song itself. It's probably the sole reason you listened to the song in the first place.
Listed below are songs that are currently in my head and they have really good highlights or peaks. I've taken the time to copy the lyrical piece that peaks in the song, which is followed by the conclusion. Usually, this is the part of the song that is most memorable.
I know my old music appreciation professor would love this.
Song and Artist: "Georgia On my Mind" by Ray Charles
Commentary: It's something about this song that gets to me. It's very memorable, yet sad. It's melancholy good song for raining days.
Song Highlights:
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you
Song and Artist: "You and Me" by Lifehouse
Commentary: It's a touching song with a slightly catchy tune; this song reminds me that sometimes when I'm with Shelly, she's the only person I care about while everyone around is pretty much oblivious to me. However, it can get slightly annoying after repetitive playback.
Song Highlight:
there's something about you now
I can't quite figure out
everything she does is beautiful
everything she does is right
Song and Artist: "So High" by John Legend
Commentary: This song reminds me of the joys, beauties, and highs of true love; it's a great song and good singer.
Song Highlight:
Ooh this feels so crazy
Oh this love is blazin'
Baby we're so high
Walking on cloud 9
You got me up so high
You got me up so high
You got me up so high
My shoes are scraping the sky
Song and Artist:"Slipped Away" by Avril Lavenge
Commentary: This song is noteworthy because it dreadfully reminds me of my ex.
Song Highlight:
Now your gone, now your gone
There you go, there you go
Somewhere I can't bring you back
Now your gone, now your gone
There you go, there you go,
Somewhere your not coming back

Love Ray Charles,love John Legend.
Iris SO hates that sond from Lifehouse.
It makes me think of Math class, so I'm not real keen on it either.
But the peaks of the song thing...I get that.
It's just like when I hear Olé or Blues Minor from John Coltrane or Saturday Night from Herbie Hancock. The song takes you somewhere else.
Always Yours,
Diane
P.S. You know, you really should announce when you write something; you don't do it too often.
